John W. Fields

Johnny Fields is a native of Florence, South Carolina, but has lived and practiced in Seneca, South Carolina for 39 years.  Johnny served in the United States Army during Vietnam, where he earned a Purple Heart for his valor in the field.  After Vietnam, Johnny enrolled and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1970 where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.  He then went on to earn the degree of Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1973, and was a member of Phi Delta Phi Honor Society.  Johnny first served the citizens of Oconee County as the Seneca City Judge from 1973 to 1976.  He then served as an Oconee County Assistant Solicitor from 1976 to 1980, during which time he also served as the City Attorney for the City of Seneca, SC from 1977 to 1986.  In 1992, Johnny was elected as the Mayor of Seneca, SC where he served until 1996.  Johnny was also the Chairman of the Board of Visitors for the University of South Carolina from 1998 to 2000, and was a member of the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees from 2005 to 2008.  Johnny continues to serve the University of South Carolina on the Board of Governors Alumni Association, and as a Board Member of USC Development Foundation.  Johnny lives in Salem, SC with his wife Donna, and practices primarily in the areas of Real Estate, Criminal Defense, and Business Law.

M. Ed McLaurin

Ed McLaurin is a native of Bennettsville, South Carolina and represents the fourth generation of his family to graduate from Clemson University. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Communications with a minor in Packaging Science from Clemson in 2001. After graduation, Ed worked as a technical sales representative for The L.P. Thebault Co. in New York, NY before taking a position as the North & South Carolina Sales Manager for General Graphics Corporation, a Jacksonville, FL based commercial printing & packaging manuafacturer.

In 2007, Ed started Coastal Packaging Solutions, LLC in Charleston, SC, and owned and operated this business for the next three years while earning the degree of Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law. Ed graduated from the Charleston School of Law in 2010, and has been practicing law in the SC Upstate since that time. Ed and his partner John W. Fields formed Fields & McLaurin, Attorneys at Law, LLC in 2011. Ed lives in Seneca, SC with his wife and son, and practices primarily in the areas of Elder Law, Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, Social Security Disability, Business Law, and Family Law.
