M. Ed McLaurin

Ed McLaurin is a native of Bennettsville, South Carolina and represents the fourth generation of his family to graduate from Clemson University. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Communications with a minor in Packaging Science from Clemson in 2001. After graduation, Ed worked as a technical sales representative for The L.P. Thebault Co. in New York, NY before taking a position as the North & South Carolina Sales Manager for General Graphics Corporation, a Jacksonville, FL based commercial printing & packaging manufacturer.
In 2007, Ed started Coastal Packaging Solutions, LLC in Charleston, SC, and owned and operated this business for the next three years while earning the degree of Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law. Ed graduated from the Charleston School of Law in 2010, and has been practicing law in the SC Upstate since that time.
Ed partnered with the late John W. Fields and together they formed Fields & McLaurin, Attorneys at Law, LLC in 2011. Upon Mr. Fields’ passing, Ed started McLaurin Law, LLC in 2018, and acquired Michael J. Smith’s law practice in Seneca. McLaurin Law, LLC now employs four lawyers, nine paralegals, and the firm has grown into a statewide law practice.
Ed lives in Seneca, SC with his wife, three children, and two dogs, and practices primarily in the areas of Real Estate, Estate Planning (Wills & Trusts), Estate & Trust Litigation, Elder Law, Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, and Business Law.

In Ed's Spare Time...
You can find him spending time with his family on Lake Keowee and hiking in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Ed is an avid golfer and also sponsors and volunteers as a coach for his children’s youth basketball, baseball, and soccer teams at the Seneca Recreation Department. Ed is a life-long Clemson Tiger and he and his family are ALL IN! Go Tigers!
